About Luiperdskloof

Bridging the American traveler with one of South Africa’s most authentic private bushveld reserves.

Our Story

Luiperdskloof began as a quiet partnership between a family-owned reserve in the Waterberg Mountains of Limpopo and a small team of travel specialists based in Boulder, Colorado. We recognized that many American travelers longed for an African safari experience that felt personal, unhurried, and deeply connected to the land — without the crowds of larger national parks.

The name “Luiperdskloof” draws from the Afrikaans words for leopard and ravine, reflecting both the wildlife that thrives in the area and the dramatic topography of the Waterberg. Our mission is simple: to open that landscape to guests who value authenticity over spectacle and quality over quantity.

Since launching our U.S. operations, we have guided dozens of American families, couples, and small groups through carefully designed itineraries. Every journey is built around the same principles that have defined the reserve since 1998: respect for wildlife, genuine hospitality, and a commitment to conservation.

What Sets Us Apart

We are not a large tour operator. We are a focused bridge between Colorado and the Waterberg. Our team in Boulder handles every logistical detail — flights, transfers, timing, dietary needs, and special requests — so that when you arrive in South Africa, the only thing left is the experience itself.

On the ground, you stay within a private 2,500-hectare reserve that has been carefully managed for more than two decades. The owners and staff speak English, Afrikaans, Dutch, and French, ensuring clear communication and a warm, professional welcome for international guests.
